In partnership with relevant Ministries, Cambrew Ltd Organized a Cleanup Day Movement To Celebrate the World Cleanup Day Towards ‘Clean & Green Cambodia’

Phnom Penh, 17th Sep 2022: Cambrew Ltd together with the National Committee of Clean City Assessment, the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Environment, Phnom Penh Municipal, Union Youth Federations of Cambodia, and local authorities have conducted a Clean-Up Day initiative, at Sangkat Srah Chak, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh.

The event has been respectively presided over by H.E Noun Pharath, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh municipal, H.E Ken Serie Ratha, Director General of the General Department of Environmental Knowledge & Information, and H.E Top Sopheak, Secretary of State of Ministry of Tourism, with more than 500 participants including Cambrew’s employees, youth, and involvement authorities.

This is the 2nd cleanup movement in 2022 organized by Cambrew and in collaboration with relevant stakeholders after being held in Sihanoukville in July to celebrate World Cleanup Day and to raise public awareness of environmental protection as well as encouraging more public participation in environmental actions toward a better environment under the theme “Clean & Green Cambodia”. 

In this movement, Mr. Bruce Kidner, Acting Managing Director and VP Finance, expressed his sincere appreciation that Cambrew is being a part of this initiative. To quote his speech: “At Cambrew, we are​ delighted to organize this cleanup movement as a way to improve the management of day-to-day waste disposal and help to lead the way in changing people's mindset to positive disposal”. He added that “In this sense, it reflects our willingness on the environmental agenda; all of us may have different schedules and obligations but share the same responsibility to sustainably contribute towards a better society”. He believes that the involvement of all of us in environmental concerns can help make a positive change today & tomorrow, just big and small.

H.E Noun Pharath said that “This event contributes to clean city as well as to cultivate people mindset in Phnom Penh city jointly in welcoming the leaders in ASEAN who will attend the meeting and organize the upcoming SEA Game in 2023”.

H.E Ken Serie Ratha, stated that “The Ministry of Environment with the general department of environmental knowledge & information has been organizing “Safe Village-Commune/Sangkat” competition related to the environment aiming to change Cambodian people mindset in environmental awareness and participate in the eco-friendly implementation as well as encourage authorities to put more effort to manage hygiene Village, Commune-Sangkat in order to attract national and international tourists as a contribution to the clean & green Cambodia initiative”.

H.E Tom Sopheak, also mentioned, “Clean is a new approach in promoting tourism in Covid-19 era and post Covid-19, in this sense, clean with beautiful scenery, luxury, better environment, hygiene, secure, and delicious taste that require thorough consideration and management before and during the 32nd SEA Games and the upcoming 2023 ASEAN Para Games”.
